Real Madrid striker Kylian Mbappe played his first game as a left winger for Real Madrid in Sunday's 3-0 win over Leganes, in which he scored the opening goal of the game, a change of position that he says is common in his career.
"It was a good game. He started well, getting into rhythm with his team-mates in a different position. I can play in all positions, today it was different and in the next one maybe I'll play in a different one again. I'm ready. It's the story of my career, I play right, left, centre, it doesn't matter to me. I want to play well, help the team and score a lot of goals,· he told Real Madrid TV.
Mbappe said that having trained in Madrid during the international break, having not been called up by France for the second consecutive match, it was good for him to be in good shape.
"It's very good for me to train with the boys, from the reserve team too. I didn't know many of them and they have a lot of quality. I'm physically well and ready to help the team", he declared. He also pointed out the importance of his team's win against Leganes after Barcelona's 2-2 draw against Celta Vigo.
"We come here to win. We know the importance of the match. We had to win after Barcelona's draw. We started well, with good rhythm, having the ball, playing well... The first goal was very important," he said. Mbappe also praised Fede Valverde, who captained Real Madrid for the first time from the start of the game.
"He's a very important player. When people talk about players, they talk about others that we see a bit more, but Fede is very important. People don't talk about him much, but he's very important for us. He's won a lot of titles here and I hope he continues to do so," said Mbappe.
