The last international break of the 2024-25 season is upon us. With the players exhausted after a long campaign, there are some of them who can rest, but not internationals like Robert Lewandowski, an institution in his country.
Speaking to the media, the striker confessed to feeling tired after the demanding test at the Metropolitano, in which Lewandowski opened the way for Barcelona's comeback.
"Honestly, I didn't sleep well after the match. We arrived back in Barcelona at 3 a.m. and when I got home, I couldn't sleep much. Then I had to fly early, so I didn't get enough rest," said the Polish striker.
Nevertheless, he was pleased with the results: "A game like this gives you a big morale boost, especially when you're 2-0 down and then you score four goals and win. This kind of win boosts your confidence, especially when there are so many games left in the season. It's great to come to the national team camp after a win, it gives you positive energy."
Finally, he spoke about his national team, Poland: "The recent results were not what we expected, but now we are starting a new chapter. As for returning to the national team, I am always happy and proud to be here. We played two games in a great stadium and that makes me smile. I feel a special affection for this facility, if only because I scored the first goal for Poland here."
