Erling Haaland has smashed Premier League records in his 1st season with Manchester City. The Norwegian star was mentioned by former Manchester United striker Andy Cole.
The former England international showed his admiration and respect for the Etihad Stadium '9' in the 'Daily Mail': "I don't give a sh*t that he broke my goalscoring record. I'm being honest, records are meant to be broken. What I'll do is take my hat off to him and congratulate him.
Andy Cole insisted on the subject and nuanced that people expect his disappointment rather than his joy for a fellow professional: "Some people might be f*cked up. People say I must be disappointed. Why, because someone has scored more goals than me? It took almost 20 years for someone to get that close!".
With the Brentford-Manchester City game remaining before Pep Guardiola's side close out the Premier League season, Erling Haaland has 36 domestic goals to his name. That's two more than Andy Cole's 34 for Newcastle 1993-94 or Alan Shearer's 34 for Blackburn Rovers 1994-95.
