With hardly any rest, Real Madrid welcome Alaves to the Santiago Bernabeu on Tuesday. The match will be a special one for Carlo Ancelotti, as the Italian will have coached 300 games as Los Blancos coach between his two spells at the helm. After this milestone, the coach wants more and says that he does not see the end of his career in the dugout.
"I've been lucky enough to coach big clubs. At Milan, I was also a player, so I have a special affection for them, and at Madrid I've played 300 games. I can say that I've been lucky enough to coach the best team in the world, and to do it 300 times, I'm not saying it's a miracle, but it's almost", said the coach.
He also said that he desires to stay at the club as long as his body can take it: "I don't have a deadline, I'll be here as long as I like doing this job. You can't compare my tiredness with that of the players. I'm not mentally tired, there is indeed pressure but I love it here, whereas the players are physically tired. I don't have an expiry date and I would love to stay here for more years."
Alaves are a surprising opponent. After six matchdays they are in sixth place and are one of the revelations of what little time we have had. Still, Ancelotti is more focused on his own. "The objective we have is always the same. We have a good dynamic and we have to continue, fight and compete. I think we are better", he told the media.
