Speaking after his third consecutive defeat at the helm of Chelsea in what is his second stint at the side, manager Frank Lampard was heavily critical of his side's performance, saying he didn't like what he saw.

After taking the lead via Conor Gallagher, London side Chelsea fell at home to a spirited Brighton outfit. A Seagulls comeback sees Blues manager Lampard inflicted with his third loss in as many games after coming back as interim boss at the side.
He couldn't have had a worse start to his second tenure, first losing in the league to Wolves, before falling to Real Madrid in the Champions League. This Saturday's result only adds insult to injury for the once English-giants.
Speaking to the BBC post-match, the ex-Blue was keen to emphasise his distaste with what he saw from his men, saying that the loss was "not a Chelsea performance". He then went on to say "I don't like what I saw today", before laying out what they need to do to improve.
"There needs to be a new energy. That needs to come back". Lampard also used the chance to try and ask for enthusiasm from the fans, despite poor results, as he realises there have been some lack-lustered performances of late.
He emphasised the importance of the Stamford Bridge crowd's role, and said they "have to energise" them for this Tuesday's Champions League second leg against Real Madrid. It's a make-or-break tie for Chelsea's season, as the European competition is their best hope of qualifying for next year's tournament.
