Chelsea will host Real Madrid in the second leg of their Champions League quarter-final at Stamford Bridge.
Enzo Fernandez, who joined the Blues in January, spoke to his current club's press ahead of Tuesday's game. The Argentine said he had always dreamed of playing in European competition.
"It's an enormous accomplishment to play in the Champions League. I've always dreamed of playing in it. Everything's happening so fast in my career. I'm truly enjoying playing in it and I'm happy to play with Chelsea here and experience it to the maximum," he claimed.
"We started out by losing in Germany, and we turned it around while playing at home with our support. Fans are really important, they supported us throughout it all. We knew and trusted in our game plan. We trusted in our team, in our mental strength.
"Adapting always takes time, meeting new players. I was among the 10 new players that came in. It’s hard with different languages, so it’s difficult to connect with teammates at the beginning.
"As time goes by, we start getting to know our teammates better and it will get better with time. The new players and I are all striving to adapt as best as possible," Fernandez concluded.
