Barcelona struggled mightily to win the game against Valencia. The 'Cules', who broke the deadlock with an early opener, saw the 'Ches' turn the score around in a matter of minutes (1-2). However, Lewandowski popped up to score a hat trick and secure the comeback (4-2).
After the match, Xavi spoke to 'DAZN' microphones and highlighted the improvement of the Pole, who had not scored for a month and a half: "We try to make demands on them (players). Lewy' is part of the history of this club. My decision to say goodbye was about that. Maybe they could give more, and that's how it has been. I think that both at Montjuic (against PSG) and at the Bernabeu, we deserved much more".
In relation to his continuity, the 'Cule' coach explained why he decided to continue: "In January I thought I was responsible for the bad results and I wanted to take a step aside. In the following months things changed. Barcelona is a rollercoaster. This happens to us 'Cules', one day everything goes well and the next we destroy everything. I have felt the support of the club, Deco and the players.
Xavi himself also showed his love for the Barcelona colours. "I feel the club. The day I finish here, I'll be with my children watching the game. If I feel that I have to continue and I have the backing of the players, it's fundamental", he concluded.
