Atletico Madrid's new signing Conor Gallagher, who has signed for the next five seasons from Chelsea, said on Thursday that he "wants to win a lot of trophies" with the club.
"I want to help the team as much as possible. Obviously, the aim is to win titles, and of course, I'm here to win trophies. It's a very big club that has won a lot of trophies and hopefully we can win a lot more together," the England player said via a club video.
After being unveiled at the Metropolitano on Wednesday in front of the Atletico fans, Gallagher said "it's an unbelievable stadium", and highlighted the excitement of going out and playing in front of the affliction.
"I try to do a bit of everything on the pitch. I always work as hard as possible, I leave everything on the pitch. I try to create goal scoring chances and also help the team as much as I can in defence," the midfielder added about his style of play.
The English midfielder described compatriot Kieran Trippier, who played for Atleti, as "a great player" and said he spoke to him and he "helped" him make his decision after telling him "how amazing the club is, the fans, the city".
"I have a very good relationship with Azpilicueta, I spoke to him and he only told me good things about the club and why I should come," he concluded by adding “Aupa Atleti”.
