Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) coach Luis Enrique Martínez admitted he suffered "more than in childbirth" against Michel's Girona, who were beaten by a goal in the 90th minute due to a blunder by Argentinian goalkeeper Paulo Gazzaniga.
At the post-match press conference, the Asturian confirmed Asensio's muscle injury, pending assessment of its extent, and lashed out at his side's European schedule, which he deemed "the worst" of all.
"I've told Míchel that I've suffered more than in a childbirth and I've been in one, although, of course, without being the protagonist," he said. "There was a bit of luck in the goal," he added, “but I think we deserved the win and I think it's good for our fans, who cheered us on until 95 minutes from time”.
Luis Enrique praised Girona, who he gave a good chance of qualifying for the last 16, and considered them to be "top level and they play better than many (teams) in group 3, 2 and even 1".
