Joan Laporta is optimistic about Barcelona's future. The president sees a "splendid club with titles" in the medium term despite their current financial problems.
The president of the Catalan club was present at the renewal of the agreement with Cupra and showed his most optimistic side at an event in which he laughed when asked about Erling Haaland.
"I see a splendid Barcelona with titles in five years' time," said Laporta, who also offered his thoughts on the Spanish club's academy.
"At Barcelona we have always been committed to talent from a very young age. Barca's commitment to training is unique in the world. Generations have come through that have produced extraordinary results and this happens generation after generation. There was a glorious generation that led us to great success," he confessed.
Laporta said the academy is one of the "strong points" and the "foundation" of his team. "Our commitment to young people with an academy that is a world reference and knowledge that we export to many countries," he added.
"For the club to be viable and sustainable, both sportingly and economically, the commitment to them is very important. We have always been successful when the team has been mainly made up of academy players with top-level reinforcements," he concluded.
