David Hancko has spoken openly about his interest in Atletico Madrid. The Feyenoord player has denied that he has gone crazy with the salary the Spanish side are allegedly offering him: "It's not about money. This is out of my hands, I can't do anything about it, but if I stay it won't be a punishment. I love this club.

At the Metropolitano they are looking for defenders and, as a centre-back, the one they like the most is David Hancko, for whom Feyenoord are asking 35 million. Atletico do not intend to reach that amount, which is why the deal has not been finalised and other options such as Clement Lenglet are being considered.
Tired of reading rumours about his future, Hancko has explained what is the truth behind the 'Colchoneros' interest in his signing. "I didn't like it when the media said that I went crazy because of the salary that Atletico would have offered me. That's not true," he told 'ESPN'.
Hancko defended that he already has "a great contract" with Feyenoord and that if the clubs can't agree, he will have no problem staying: "For me it's not about money. I understand that Feyenoord are demanding more money from Atletico".
"This is out of my hands and I can't do anything about it, but it won't be a punishment if I stay at Feyenoord. I love this club," he stressed.
According to the latest reports, 8 million separates him from Atletico Madrid. The positions between the Dutch club and the Spaniard are still far apart for the moment, but the summer is long and anything can happen.
