During the '3Cat' documentary 'Aitana Bonmati Conca', dedicated to Barcelona's star player, Pep Guardiola talks about what the future could hold for both of them. He does so with laughter, in a jocular and interesting tone in which he sees himself as the president of the 'Cule' club with a big-name signing, that of the player, who would take on the role of sporting director.

Manchester City coach Pep Guardiola, at least with a laugh, sees himself as the future president of Barcelona. The Manchester City coach went through the documentary that '3Cat' is preparing about the Ballon d'Or Aitana Bonmati and, in a section of the footage that was released on Wednesday, a conversation between the player and the coach could be seen and heard in which the latter jokes that he will sign her as sporting director in a few decades.
At a moment when the 'Cule' star imagines what will become of her in a few years time, she says: "I'll be there and as you'll be coaching until you're 80 years old..." "I'm very grateful for the offer," replies the player from Sampedor. "I haven't made it to you yet", adds the one from San Pedro de Ribes. "I'll come for free, don't suffer. It won't be an economic question. But I will be the president. And I'll be the one to sign you as sporting director", says the Cityzens coach.
"We'll see who makes the offer to whom", the midfielder then challenges him, who, later on, hears how the former Barca coach highlights her skills on the board. First, he asks her: "Why do you want to be sporting director?" She answers: "I want to be able to create the structure myself, to decide who does and who doesn't, to be the leader of the process. Who knows if I'll end up as a coach, I'm not closing the doors". It is then that she receives the prediction of her referent.
"You will end up being a coach. Because you'll be at the top and you'll see things you want to do but can't. The closest you'll get to being a player is being a coach," explains Pep, who learned from this conversation that Aitana does not prioritise her idealised position in the offices for the men's or women's team. "It would be from the club. There is still progress to be made in football in the sense that there are few women in important positions," she says.
