Former Real Madrid footballer Manolo Sanchis said that if Vinicius Junior was his teammate he would urge him to go and "have a beer because everything can be solved by having one", so that the Brazilian would take his mind off everything he is suffering around him with racist chants in some stadiums.
Sanchis, who played for Real Madrid between 1983 and 2001, gave his opinion on the season under Italian coach Carlo Ancelotti. "I think Real Madrid's season is going well.
"In La Liga they are pretty solid and in Europe they have a game that I think could have been the final [against Manchester City]. They are showing the consolidation of players who are acquiring a very high level and they have a great coach who makes all these things work," said Sanchis during the presentation of the new edition of the Vicente del Bosque Campus at an event.
The former Real Madrid player was asked what he would say to Vinicius, who has received racist insults in many stadiums, if he were his teammate. "If he was my teammate, I would tell him to have a beer. Everything is settled over a beer," he replied.
Sanchis was asked which Champions League final he would like to see this year and he had no doubts. "I would love a final between Real Madrid and Atletico," he concluded.
