Barcelona's unbeaten run came to an end after their 4-2 defeat against Osasuna. Hansi Flick appeared in the press room and gave his first impressions on the matter after the first setback of the season.
“You have to accept these defeats. We didn't play very well. I think protecting the players is my responsibility, because they have been playing a lot of minutes. But I didn't expect us to play like this. I've told the team that we have to move on. We played on Tuesday, on Sunday... and we are on the right track,” he began.
The German did not hesitate to be self-critical: “We made a lot of mistakes in the first half, but in the end we made changes. If there's anyone to blame, it's me, but I have to look after the players. I think we are on the right track. We have two days to recover. I hope that tomorrow we will see a different team.
“We made a lot of mistakes and they did very well. Although in the second goal I think there is a foul at the start of the action, I'm not entirely sure because I haven't been able to see it yet, but that's what I've heard. To concede four goals is too much,” he added.
On the substitution of Robert Lewandowski: “Because he also needs rest. That's how it is. Everyone needs rest. He is strong, but every three days we have a game and we do it for his sake.”
