Inter Miami coach Gerardo Martino held a press conference after the draw against New York City. When asked what his team lacked to take the three points, he said that the only thing he missed in the match was “a good referee”.

Inter Miami coach Gerardo Martino was highly critical of the referee after his team's 1-1 away draw with New York City after conceding a goal in the 95th minute.
“I don't know if the team lacked anything. I would say the game lacked a good referee,” said the Argentine coach.
Martino also argued that, prior to James Sands' 95th-minute goal for New York City that cancelled out Ecuador's Leonardo Campana's 75th-minute equalizer, there was a foul on Inter Miami's Bright that was not called.
“I think we played a good game and we should have won. If in the play at the end, the referee or the VAR called the terrible foul on Yannick Bright we would have won 1-0,” he argued.
After two consecutive draws away from home (both conceded in the final minutes and after going into the final whistle with a lead), Lionel Messi's team remains at the top of the East conference with 64 points and the overwhelming favourite to win the MLS Supporters' Shield (the title for the best MLS team in the regular season).
