"I'll sign for that with my blood" - Mbappe on scoring and winning trophies with Real

Kylian Mbappe, scorer of a hat trick and MVP of the second leg of the Champions League play-off between Real Madrid and Manchester City, spoke to 'Movistar' on the pitch. The Frenchman praised himself for the room for improvement he suggested at the beginning of the season - “I didn't come here to play badly”-, was pleased that his goal-scoring quota has increased - “if I can score 50, I will”- and pointed out that he only gives meaning to his skill in front of goal if it leads to titles - “I'll sign for that with my blood”-.

Kylian Mbappe, scorer of all three goals in Real Madrid's 3-1 win over Manchester City, 'chose' Atletico Madrid as his opponent for the last 16 of the Champions League “not to travel” and assured that he signs with “blood” that his goals will serve to win titles. “I didn't want to come here to play badly. Fulfilling my dream is one thing, but I want to play well, mark an era and make history at Real Madrid. I knew I had to play with more personality, the adaptation time is over and I have to show my quality,” said Mbappe, scorer of 18 goals in his last 18 games.
“I have no limit, if I can score 50, I will do it and even more, but the most important thing is to win titles because, in my career, I have scored a lot of goals and I have not won, many times, big titles. If I score a lot of goals and we win titles, I will sign for that with my blood,” he added. Mbappe celebrated a great European night for Real Madrid against Manchester City by highlighting the strength shown in front of their fans at the Santiago Bernabeu stadium.
“It was a perfect night for the team, we wanted to win and qualify because it is logical for Real Madrid to be in the last 16 of the Champions League. Against City, it is always difficult, but, at home, we are very strong, we play collectively in the best way and we have given joy to the Madridistas,” he analysed on ‘Movistar+’. “For sure it was a great day for the team and we have to continue like this if we want to win what we want to win,” he added.
Finally, when asked about the team of his preference for the round of 16 -it can only be neighbours Atletico Madrid or the German Bayer Leverkusen-, the Frenchman had a clear choice: “They are two great teams, the truth is that Atletico or Leverkusen are very difficult, but, for me, Atletico is better because, this way, we don't travel. Both are difficult, so it's better to play one close to home so we don't have to travel.
