The eleventh matchday of the Italian second tier, Serie B, ended with nine draws in its ten matches. This midweek fixture saw only one match without a draw, a 1-0 win for bottom-placed Cosenza against Reggiana. Until now, the maximum number of draws in the same matchday had been 4, something that happened in 3 matchdays.

B, nothing. Serie X should be called, at least for this matchday, the second tier of Italian football. It is inevitably striking that, of the 10 matches on matchday 11, nine ended in draws. Reggiana-Cosenza, which ended in a 1-0 away win, is the only match in which a team went without a point.
Things started on Tuesday, with 5 draws in the 6 matches scheduled for that day. Moreover, none of them resulted in a share of the points ‘in extremis’, but the smell of a draw was already smelling from afar. In fact, no scoreboard moved in the whole day beyond the 64th minute, when ‘Mudo’ Vazquez made it 2-2 in the Modena-Cremonese match. The other matches were Bari 0-0 Carrarese, Brescia 1-1 Spezia, Juve Stabia 2-2 Sassuolo, Salernitana 1-1 Cesena and the aforementioned Cosenza win.
On Wednesday, the remaining four games were added to the party. Frosinone came close to breaking this draw trend, but Odogwu, in the 74th minute, made it 1-1 to salvage a point for Sudtirol. The remaining matches are much simpler to report:Citadella and Sampdoria, Mantoca and Palermo, and Pisa and Catanzaro played out goalless draws.
As well as being terrible news for Reggiana, whose 19 rivals have taken a point off them and have dropped from 12th to 15th, and very good news for Cosenza, who were bottom and are now 18th, this is curious if you compare it with the 10 matches already played in this category. On matchdays 1, 7 and 9, there were 4 draws, the highest number so far. In the other 5, there were 3 draws, while in matchday 6 there were two and in matchday 2, only one. In terms of teams, the kings of draws are Catanzaro and Bari, with 7 in 11 rounds, followed by La Spezia, with 6 and the only unbeaten team.
