Romelu Lukaku turned down the opportunity to rejoin Inter Milan from Chelsea, according to Simone Inzaghi, who is 'disappointed' by this along with those with Inter Milan tickets.

Lukaku was lured back to Stamford Bridge from the San Siro in 2021 for a then-club record transfer cost. However, following a dreadful campaign on and off the pitch, the striker returned to his beloved Inter on loan.
Overall, his return to Italy was mixed, but both the player and the club were eager for the move to become permanent this summer.
However, Inter abandoned the sale after having two bids rejected, and they are now furious after learning that Lukaku is currently seeking to join bitter rivals Juventus and has supposedly reached a personal agreement.
With the two teams disagreeing on a price and Chelsea being uninterested in a player swap involving Dusan Vlahovic, that deal now seems doubtful.
They and Inter manager Inzaghi were disappointed at not being reunited with the 30-year-old Belgian international.
"I appreciate what Lukaku gave us last season," he said. As reported by Reuters, Inzaghi told reporters, "I wanted him here and would have liked that to continue, but he made a different decision.
Considering how well-received he had been by the Inter family, how it ended is disheartening.
Marcus Thuram is the new forward that Inter have added this summer, much to the delight of the fans with Inter Milan tickets. Still, the team is substantially different from the one that reached the Champions League final a few months ago due to the departure of many prominent players, including Andre Onana, to Manchester United.
The transfer window is challenging for practically everyone, Inzaghi continued. We have lost some of the top players from their positions in Italy, but we have also added guys with promising futures who can support us.
"I dislike discussing favourites. Since our goal is to win trophies, I want to succeed because the supporters deserve it.
What a night it was for new Inter Milan captain Lautaro Martinez, who celebrated the happy event by scoring two excellent goals in his team's first game under his command, giving them a crucial victory that helped them gain early momentum in Serie A. Martinez has consistently been a critical player for the team. He did it once more when they defeated Monza.
Serie A's Inter Milan easily defeated AC Monza on the opening day, and the team's brilliant new captain Lautaro Martinez stole two goals in his debut match as captain, much to the enjoyment of the fans with Inter Milan tickets.
Martinez displayed the instinct that made him the top scorer for the Nerazzuri last season, ghosting off Danilo D'Ambrosio's shoulder to latch onto the pass and stroke it into the bottom-left corner. The goal gave Inter the lead and came from the ever-dangerous Dumfries finding space on the right flank and rolling a ball across the box.
With Inter prepared to stand back and let Monza try to break them down, the game offered few opportunities, and Monza could not make Inter pay on the break.
That is until Inter's lead was doubled when Marko Arnautovic, who had just entered the game, sent a low cross towards the back post where Javi Martinez was unmarked and able to finish on the slide.
Arnautovic was a brilliant replacement, bringing life to a drab game until that moment. He was only allowed 35 minutes on the pitch, but it was unfortunate that he didn't end the game with a goal and an assist because it appeared like he was always in space around the penalty box.
Arnautovic, who served as Inter's new forward line's pivot at the finish, may get the nod to start the following game against Cagliari.
Monza, on the other hand, needed more concrete chances despite having a lot of possession. Giorgos Kyriakopoulos and Patrick Cuirra, the wingbacks, saw much of the ball, especially in the second half. Still, Monza's forwards rarely found space in the danger areas, and when they did, they needed to be more precise with their shots.
The fans with Inter Milan tickets had a hectic summer with the departures of Andre Onana, Samir Handanovic, Marcelo Brozovic, Edin Dzeko, and Romelu Lukaku.
While Francesco Acerbi, who was on loan, made a permanent transition to the team, and Marcus Thuram was a steal for free, Yann Sommer was the senior replacement in goal.
In contrast to a helpless Monza, Sommer had very little to do, and Thuram displayed initiative in the final third without actually producing much in the way of a finished product.
The two goals Inter scored were more a result of Martinez's eye for goal and telepathy with Arnautovic and Dumfries than Inter's numerous opportunities to bombard the Monza goal. Inter is still being developed.
Benjamin Pavard is the subject of an upgraded bid from Inter, although that offer falls short of Bayern Munich's asking price.
The Serie A powerhouses are desperate to sign the France international full-back, and their most recent offer is reportedly in the range of €28 million (£24 million/$30 million), with an additional €5 million tied to various bonuses. Inter is moving up after making a €25 million opening offer.
However, according to Gazzetta dello Sport, Bundesliga champions Bayern are asking for a package for a guaranteed €30 million (£26 million/$33 million) for World Cup winner Pavard. The versatile 27-year-old's value has been significantly reduced, but the German superpowers won't lower their demands.
It is anticipated that Inter will have the resources available to meet Bayern's demands and get a top target. They are aware that Premier League powerhouses Manchester United have also been keeping an eye out. Still, the Red Devils have yet to make an appropriate offer and would be entirely out of the running if the Nerazzurri act swiftly.
Regarding Pavard, discussions are ongoing, but San Siro appears to be his next stop. The highly regarded defender has played 163 times for Bayern since joining the team in 2019, contributing to their 11 major championships, which include four Bundesliga wins and a Champions League triumph.
To replace Andre Onana, who has joined United, David de Gea has turned down the opportunity to join Inter.
According to The Daily Record, the Spain international, who departed United when his contract expired, turned down the opportunity to transfer to San Siro and take Onana's place, who has since replaced De Gea at United. The Milan club offered the custodian a salary of €5 million (£4 million/$6 million), but he is holding out for closer to €10 million (£9 million/$11 million), or almost £220,000 each week.
According to the source, Inter has already changed their strategy and is negotiating contracts with Yann Sommer of Bayern Munich and Anatoliy Trubin of Shakhtar Donetsk to replace Onana.
With the new Serie A season already started, the transformative signings of Inter Milan have added a lot of variety to their flow of play, and an exciting season awaits them as they set out on a new campaign following their champions league final appearance last season. Inter Milan tickets are selling out hot and fast as we speak.
