Isco has made his comeback after 265 days without stepping foot on a football pitch. Until Sunday's match against Real Sociedad, his last appearance was on 13th November in the Copa del Rey with Sevilla against Velarde.
The Malaga native made his debut for Real Betis in a pre-season friendly in Mexico on Sunday morning. The player, who is still far from his best, played one half of the game.
Isco was one of the bright spots in a somewhat poor Betis side and showed his quality in a number of passes and touches that reminded us that he is still a different kind of footballer. He has the knowledge and he also showed his desire to play.
"I'm happy to enjoy my first few minutes. It's a shame about the result, but I think it's good to keep getting into the rhythm for the start of the championship, which is going to be tough. I think the team was good overall. We need to keep improving," he told the Andalusian club's official media after the match.
