Espanyol coach Manolo Gonzalez was visibly angry about the 4-1 defeat to Real Madrid, a "quite exaggerated result" for him. He spoke, in particular, about the penalty given to Endrick and commented that it is not a penalty because he had "both feet outside the box".

Espanyol coach Manolo Gonzalez lamented the mistakes made by his team that led to Real Madrid's goals, was proud of the image left at the Santiago Bernabeu and said that the 4-1 scoreline is a "quite exaggerated result".
"When you come to play against Real Madrid on this pitch you can't fail. Failure penalises you because they don't forgive you. You can defend sensationally for a large part of the game and then make a huge mistake and it leads to the final result," he told the press conference.
"The result is quite exaggerated looking at the game, to be honest. They had chances but they were avoidable goals. With situations like this, it's difficult to win," he added.
Manolo Gonzalez acknowledged that he was "angry" with the defeat at the Bernabeu after feeling that they had a good chance of getting a better result and taking the points away from Real Madrid.
"I thought the team was capable of scoring or winning here, people thought I was joking or that I was crazy but I thought the same before visiting Atletico and we managed to do it. The team does things well, they work hard in the game, they knew how to compete and to end the game like that after having it in our favour makes me angry," he lamented.
"We didn't fall apart but for them, having equalised so early, the point of concern has been taken away and our morale has gone down. It has affected the mood of both teams," he added.
Finally, he said that the penalty for the 4-1 penalty on Endrick was a grab outside the box. "I didn't ask for an explanation from the referee and I don't want to give it any more thought, the grabbing ended up inside the box and that's why he gave a penalty instead of a foul. For me, it's not a penalty, he had both feet outside the box and it pisses me off. It has no relevance because it was 4-1. What annoys me is the final result".
