"It's a Champions League game and we have to give 100 per cent to win"

After the international break, Barcelona are back to their La Liga routine. With a perfect start thanks to their four wins out of four against Valencia, Athletic, Rayo Vallecano and Valladolid, the team now faces a tough test, as they visit Girona, the third-placed team from last season.
In the pre-match press conference, Hansi Flick analysed what awaits his team in Montilivi and assessed the clash as a test. "It's a high-level game, Champions League level. I've seen a lot of Girona's games and I've been impressed. We are confident after four wins and we know how we want to play the game," said the German.
"It will be a tough game in which possession will be one of the keys. We know that they love to have the ball, so we have to be at 100% defensively and when pressing," explained the Azulgrana coach.
He explained the work that the team must do to get the three points. "We must defend as a team, know how to occupy positions well on the pitch, stay on top of our opponents... We are ready and I hope we can show it", he added.
Flick also commented on the peculiarities of the schedule surrounding this fixture, as it comes after the September FIFA date and just before the team's Champions League opener against Monaco.
Despite being aware of this, the German made it clear that the team's mind must be solely on Girona. "We have to give 100 per cent. Our players are ready (mentally and physically). Tomorrow is the day. I'm not thinking about the Champions League yet, just this game," explained the Cules’ boss.
