Very few players can have their last club game in a Champions League final. Toni Kroos is going to do it this Saturday, and he wants to leave with the trophy in his pocket. At the ‘Media Day’, the German wanted to talk about what awaits him.
"It's going to be my last game for Real Madrid, but for me the farewell was two days ago. It was nice and a night to remember, but there's a very important match this week. It's the most important game in the world at club level and I'm fully focused on winning it. I won my first Champions League at Wembley and on Saturday I want to complete the circle".
Kroos recalled Saturday's experience at the Bernabeu. "I was trying not to cry. I thought ‘how strong I am’, but when I saw my daughter there, it was impossible. These are moments I will never forget, it's a night for life."
"These are moments where I have enjoyed myself because when I arrived in 2014 I didn't expect a farewell like this. This has really hurt me a lot because you do your day-to-day work, but you don't know what the fans think of you. It's very nice to see what you are for the people on and off the pitch," he added.
Kroos arrives at the final ‘really looking forward to it’. "We've already experienced it and we know what to expect. Preparing for something like this... There's nothing better," added the German midfielder.
Despite Real Madrid's favouritism, Kroos is wary of Borussia Dortmund">Borussia Dortmund: "There's an opponent on the other side who might surprise us. After knocking out Man City and Bayern, Dortmund come here and it looks like it's going to be easy, but that's not the case. They can make us suffer a lot."
