"It's hard to lose, but we'll have more chances"
Jude Bellingham spoke to the media after England's defeat to Spain in the European Championship final. The Madrid midfielder is not worried about the future of the 'Three Lions', which he believes is hopeful given the quality and age of the current squad. England midfielder Jude Bellingham said on Sunday after losing the European Championship final to Spain that it was "tough" to go down to defeat, but warned that the England squad is a young group that "will have opportunities" in the future.
Bellingham, visibly angry after the match (he kicked a fridge), told how the defeat to Spain unfolded and left an open door of hope for him and his teammates to win titles in time.
"We had a couple of chances at the end that were saved under the posts. It's very tough, but there's a lot of merit in reaching the final. We have to take this experience with us. We've reached another final. It's very difficult to keep the good moments now because we came here to win," he explained.
"It's very hard to lose. It takes some time to analyse why we lost. But we are a young team that will have more opportunities," he said.
Finally, he explained that a national team football tournament "is different" to club tournaments and pointed out that you have to have "intelligence" to face the kind of matches that can give or take away titles.
