Ukrainian goalkeeper Andriy Lunin has confessed to 'El Chiringuito de Jugones' that his idea is to finish his contract with Real Madrid, a deal that ends in June 2025. "I would like to stay here," he confirmed on the popular Spanish show.
The goalkeeper reflected on the good moment he is experiencing in the Spanish capital with these words: "I am doing very well these days. I'm probably going through the best moment of my professional career. I don't know if I'm feeling the coach's confidence so much, but I do know that they're letting me play a bit more than I used to, and that's good.
On the other hand, the Ukrainian feels grateful for the opportunity he is being given: "I'm very grateful and I'm also trying to show my gratitude with my performance on the pitch". He also added that the most complicated thing for him during his time at Real Madrid has been not playing.
After years in the shadow of Thibaut Courtois, Lunin has finally made it into the XI on a regular basis. And there is something the Belgian was used to that is now destined for the Ukrainian: “It's something incredible when the Santiago Bernabeu chants your name, for a boy like me from a town of 30,000 people, I never imagined it, it's something out of this world.”
