Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola said he aged "ten more years" during the match and is emotionally destroyed after beating Bayern Munich 3-0 in the Champions League quarter-final first leg.
"It wasn't comfortable," explained the Spaniard after the win over the Bavarians, "I'm emotionally destroyed. I've aged ten more today. It was such a demanding game. Now I have to relax, a day off for the guys, then prepare for Leicester.
“I knew exactly what we had to do. If you don't perform really well, Bayern are able to score one, two or three. I know that. The players know that," said the coach.
Despite the 3-0 lead, Guardiola is cautious and believes the tie is not decided: "It's an unbelievable result, but I know what it means to go to Munich and that we will have to do something different to avoid suffering. We're going there to score goals and win the game".
Regarding Erling Haaland's game, the coach spoke about his performance: "Erling is always a threat. First half he wasn't in the game, [Matthijs] De Ligt always beat him with the long balls. When we started to play better he did. He's not just a scorer, he helped us a lot," he concluded.
