James Rodriguez could end his spell at Sao Paulo, where he joined from Olympiacos for the 2022/23 season. His good performances for Colombia at the Copa America could open the door for him to return to Europe, although he has a contract with the Brazilian club until 2025.
Turkish journalist Serdar Ali Celikler says Besiktas are reportedly interested in the playmaker. According to the press, there have been approaches between the player and the club although there is nothing official.
At Sao Paulo, meanwhile, they are keeping their distance from the rumours. The club's president Julio Caceres was present at the Copa America match between Colombia and Brazil and made it clear that he has no news about James' suitors.
"There is no offer. Sometimes we see a lot of news on social networks, but nothing has ever arrived. We will wait until the Copa America is over. After that, the picture will be clearer. In any case, the decision is always made by the coaching staff," he told reporters.
In the three matches of the tournament in the United States, James has been crucial for Colombia. He has yet to score, but has provided three assists for his national team.
