Joao Felix finally fulfilled his dream. The Portuguese player waited until the end of the summer transfer window to sign for FC Barcelona after forcing his way out of Atletico Madrid with a statement in which he said his dream was to play for Barcelona.
According to reports in Spain, the Portuguese star is believed to have had offers from Premier League sides Liverpool, Aston Villa and Manchester United.
The Portugal international has not performed as well as expected after his huge £113million move to Atletico from the Portuguese club Benfica.
He has been irregular in his performances and has not quite fit into 'Cholo' Simeone's plans. Last year, the Spanish club looked for a loan move to the Premier League, where he played for Chelsea.
The 23-year-old has not had a great season in London since he arrived on loan in the January transfer window and the Blues did not activate the option to buy that was part of the deal.
Despite wanting to return to his best, the former Benfica player did not want to return to the English top flight, where there were rumours that Manchester United wanted to offer him a loan move to Atletico. Meanwhile, Liverpool wanted to swap him for Darwin Nunez.
According to Spanish outlet 'Mundo Deportivo', the player also received offers from Saudi Pro League side Al-Hilal before the Saudis signed Neymar. Felix was willing to force a move to Barcelona where he could make his dream come true and also play in the Champions League.
The striker has made many sacrifices to play for the Barcelona giants and agreed to take a significant salary cut and sign a renewal with the 'Rojiblancos' until 2029 before his departure.
