Jordi Cruyff: "Depay could have left in the summer; we're counting on De Jong"

The sporting director spoke about the Dutch midfielder: "His talent is unquestionable. Everyone agrees, but he has had a different role at Ajax and at Barça. There he was the link between the midfield and the defence and here he is the link with the forwards. And of course, the demands are different. There are no plans for him to leave. We are counting on him," he added.
"We will see what happens. In the summer he could have left, but in the end he couldn't leave. We will see what happens with Lewandowski's three-match ban, because if there is an injury he could be necessary," the sporting director said of Memphis Depay.
