Fenerbahce secures the deal for 31-year-old Filip Kostic, who is on the verge of leaving Juventus to join the Turkey giants on loan. The agreement includes a buy-option clause, which gives Fenerbahce the opportunity to permanently sign Kostic, should his performances convince the club.
As per 'Tuttosport', 'La Vecchia Signora' were reportedly aiming for a loan deal with an obligation to buy, but settled for a non-mandatory option that - if triggered - will see Kostic stay in Turkey for a reported fee of around €5m-€6m. The agreement remains a positive one for the club, as Fenerbahce is set to cover the costs of Kostic’s wages in full.
The player is reportedly all packed up and is expected to travel to Istanbul imminently. The official announcement could arrive as early as Monday.
In Kostic, Mourinho is now set to have another player with experience in top-level European leagues. The Serbian's dribbling and crossing abilities make him a key player for Fenerbahce - alongiside the likes of Dzeko and Saint-Maximin - in their aspirations for trophies both domestically and internationally.
