Kane reckoned to replace Benzema at Madrid
The 'Merengues' are in agreement that they need to prioritise their attack this summer. They are looking for a replacement for Karim Benzema, and Harry Kane is the fancied one at the Bernabeu.

Just as with every summer, we are starting to hear a lot of rumours of Florentio Perez's Real Madrid. After getting knocked out of the Champions League at the semi-final stage and losing the La Liga title to close rivals Barcelona, Madrid are coming to the end of a disappointing season. Therefore, Los Blancos will want to do better next year, meaning they'll have to invest in the upcoming transfer window.
Even if president Perez dreams of getting stars like Erling Haaland Kylian Mbappe in, getting them this year would be very hard, meaning his focus is set on others for this year. According to 'AS, their priority is clear: get in a number 9 this summer. Real Madrid are thought to have even drawn up a list of possible suitors.
The one who is firmly at the top of that list is Harry Kane. At 29 years of age and nearing the end of his contract (June 2024), the England international could be set for an exit from Spurs this very summer, the side where he has not won anything.
However, to get him in, the Spanish side would have to commit to spending big. Spurs would be asking for €100 million for their top goalscorer. Although it's doable for a club like Real, it's still a lot of money. But their desire to get in another prolific goal-machine could prove too much to resist.
However, considering the Three Lions' captain's quality, Madrid cerainly won't be the only ones who are in the ring. Other clubs such as Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain have also been talked about as potential destinations.
