Erling Haaland has taken the Premier League by storm with his 35 goals scored in his debut season, while Darwin Nunez has had a slightly more difficult first season, with just nine. What's worse is that the Uruguayan has found the net just once in his last 11 games.
Despite being criticised by some Liverpool fans, the ex-Benfica man can still count on manager Jurgen Klopp. In the press conference before going to Leicested on Monday, the German manager rose to the defence of his player.
"Give him time to adapt, it's so hard to come into a team which doesn't work. Darwin would've scored 20 more goals if we had had a normal season. He needs time to adapt - he had it at Benfice, there was no language barrier. Salah, in his best season, scored 40 goals, but he also missed a lot", he highlighted.
Darwin Nunez moved to Liverpool last summer from Benfica for €75 million.
