Liverpool find themselves in a tight Premier League title race with Arsenal and Manchester City, as well as a Europa League quarter-final against Atalanta on the horizon. Reds manager Jurgen Klopp spoke to the media urging them to enjoy 'every single second' despite the pressure and difficult moments ahead.
“I said afterwards that it is up to us how much we enjoy the situation we are in and I could not mean this more. No-one else gets to decide this, only us. There will be pressure from outside, there will be difficult moments and there will be times when events can swing against us, but you know what? This is what we are in it for so let’s enjoy every single second," said Klopp.
The Anfield side play Sheffield United on Thursday with the pressure on them as Arsenal beat Luton at the Emirates on Wednesday and find themselves one point clear at the top of the table ahead of Liverpool. Manchester City also beat Villa in a clash between third and fourth in the table, adding to the pressure on the Reds.
Klopp added he respects both teams and that it is up to them to enjoy the experience beyond winning the 'biggest prize in English football'. “We all know that there are two other outstanding teams going for the biggest prize in English football and we respect them both."
"So we cannot decide what the outcome will be at this stage, but we can decide how much we enjoy the experience and we know that if we do enjoy it we might even give ourselves a better chance. I know there will be moments when our heart rates are 180 or 200 or whatever, but if we want ‘normal’ we could all do something else and we do not want to do that, so let’s give it a try.”
