Jules Kounde is one of the leading figures in the Barcelona dressing room, but also in the French national team. In the days leading up to the start of the European Championship, the Spanish defender gave an interview to ‘Le Parisien’ in which he addressed several current issues as well as the arrival of his compatriot Kylian Mbappe at Real Madrid.
On the former PSG superstar's arrival in La Liga, he said: "Kylian is the 'crème de la crème' (the best of the best). He's one of those players that encourages you to keep going, to look for more and convinces you that, if you work hard, sooner or later, you'll get there".
"A player like Kylian can't be stopped on your own, it also requires a collective effort, although given that he was in my area, I played a big part in the team's success," he added.
Kounde also spoke about France's Euro hopes: "The objective is to win. It's always about winning, especially when you're playing in the blue jersey, with a team of such quality. It will be a big challenge, but I think we have all the weapons to go all the way. It's up to us to put all the ingredients in place, of course, but I'm confident".
