As he has been doing once a week for the past few months, Toni Kroos talks about his current situation and that of Real Madrid in his podcast entitled 'Einfach mal luppen', accompanied by his brother Felix.
In the latest episode, the German spoke at length about Saturday's 'El Clasico' against Barcelona, his reunion with Sergio Ramos and the tensions between certain players on the pitch during Sevilla-Real Madrid.
On the subject of the clash against the 'Cules', Kroos said: "El Clasico? Do you want me to tell you that this match will decide the championship? Well, no. It's an important match in terms of the league standings, but in a way it's also key because it's the match that it is. To put it another way: this match has its own ranking."
"We're going to Barcelona to win. If we can win, we'd be four points ahead of Barcelona, which wouldn't mean a thing. And if we lose, we'll be two points behind Barcelona, which wouldn't mean anything either. But it's clear that we want to win. 'El Clasico' is 'El Clasico'," added the midfielder.
On his reunion with Sergio Ramos, his former captain at Real, Kroos said: "I was a little far away from him because of my position. In the end, there was this little brawl where I suggested he calm everyone down. It worked, except with the fans, but that's a different matter. On the pitch, things quickly calmed down. Afterwards, we saw each other in the dressing room, which was nice. At Madrid, we enjoyed success together for many years. I said on several occasions that he was one of the best central defenders and captains of all time."
