Manchester City right-back Kyle Walker is a major doubt for the first leg of the Champions League tie against Real Madrid after team doctors said he will not make it in time. 'Sky Blues' boss Pep Guardiola, however, is more optimistic about the situation of his right-back.
"The doctors have said he won't make it, but Kyle is Kyle and he has special genetics. The doctor told me it's quite serious, but Kyle is Kyle," Guardiola said ahead of the Aston Villa clash. Walker pulled out injured in England's friendly against Brazil with a hamstring problem.
The Englishman was not included in the squad against Arsenal or Aston Villa and is unlikely to play this Saturday against Crystal Palace and on 9 April against Real Madrid at the Santiago Bernabeu.
Walker joins an injury list that also includes Nathan Ake and Ederson Moraes, as well as John Stones, who is expected to return the Eagles.
