Javier Tebas backs the words of Manchester City player Rodrigo Hernandez, who recently said that footballers are close to calling a strike if they continue to increase the number of matches played each season. The La Liga chief believes that "it is time to say enough is enough" and asks FIFA not to create more competitions.

La Liga president Javier Tebas assured on Wednesday that Real Madrid's Brazilian striker Vinicius Junior “could be the next Ballon d'Or”, although he distanced himself from controversy by affirming that neither “Spain nor Spanish football are racist”.
“We have been working for a long time against racism. Since what happened with Vinicius there was a catharsis. Spain is not racist, there is collaboration from the fans with those who insult. Since that day there has been much more social awareness,” added Tebas in a speech at the Palacio de Congresos in Seville.
Tebas explained, after participating with journalist Alfredo Relano in one of the activities that comprise the World Football Summit (WFS) being held until tomorrow in the capital of Seville, that the other great Madrid star, Frenchman Kylian Mbappe, is “a great impact for La Liga”, since “only his name already generates expectation”.
However, the leader wanted to emphasize to the reporters who were waiting for him at the end of the event, that “there has also been a lot of positive impact generated by the Spanish national team in the European Championship, in which the best” have been Lamine Yamal and Nico Williams, “two players who play in La Liga”.
During his dialogue with Relano, Javier Tebas showed his “support for the comments made by Manchester City's Rodrigo Hernandez about going on strike” by footballers in protest against an overloaded calendar, as “it is time to say enough is enough to extend it with more fixtures”.
La Liga is not going to accept “reduction of the national competitions of 20 clubs as FIFA wants,” because more competitions are created for the clubs that collect the most money. “Everything is being done backwards. The wealth is not being distributed properly. The new competitions do not generate more audiovisual income,” said Tebas.
