'El Partidazo de COPE' reports that La Liga has denounced racist chants perpetrated by a group of Atletico fans in the build-up to their Champions League match against Inter Milan. Although the focus was on reaching the quarter-finals of Europe's top competition, certain individuals recalled the figure of Real Madrid striker Vinicius, who tends to be the target of such fouls.
A video by 'Agente Libre Digital' allows us to witness the reasons that have invited the domestic championship, chaired by Javier Tebas, to point out what happened. It takes place in the context of the welcome given to Diego Simeone's team bus on its arrival at the stadium where, a couple of hours later, it would celebrate the elimination of Simone Inzaghi's team on penalties. There was a draw on aggregate with extra time and it was time for the penalty shoot-out.
The body in charge of the First and Second Divisions published a brief text on its Twitter profile to express its opposition to any such act. Allusions to this fight have long been constant in the Spanish top flight and even in the RFEF, which organised a friendly match with the Brazilian national team at the Santiago Bernabeu stadium to show the unity of 'la Roja' against this scourge.
The chants of the group of Atletico fans, in particular, went like this: "Ale, ale, ale, Vinicius chimpanzee". Several social media users have already shared screenshots with the faces of some of the protagonists of these insults to facilitate their location by the authorities. They see it as fair. For the moment, the 'Colchonero' club have not commented on whether it will take action.
