Lamine Yamal has sworn eternal love to Barcelona as he made sure any doubts or concerns over his future at the club were made clear. The 17-year-old showed no intention of leaving the Catalan side as he spoke to the microphones of 'CNN Sport'.
“I believe my new contract will be signed soon. Barca is the club of my life," he said, just hours before the Spanish Super Cup semi-final against Athletic Club, which Hansi Flick had said the forward was fit to partake in.
He added: “I hope to renew and stay as long as possible with them [Barcelona]. I want to play in La Liga. I want to play for Barca. I will renew for sure".
Yamal's contract with the 'Azulgrana' is due to expire June 30 2026. Rumours regarding a possible extension until 2030 have been circulating for months, with the player's current salary of €1.7million expected to rise to €8-10million.
