The Golden Boy awards the best U21 player in Europe every year thanks to the initiative of ‘Tuttosport’. Jude Bellingham received the award in 2023 and the 2024 award is likely to be given to Lamine Yamal, the main candidate with the European Championship on the horizon.
The awarding body published the June rankings in the race for the trophy, which is awarded at the end of the calendar year. It does not go by season, but by schedule. The Barcelona prodigy is at the top of the list.
With a score of 93.6, Lamine Yamal is two tenths ahead of Benfica talent Joao Neves. Alejandro Garnacho completes the podium with 90.8, higher than Warren Zaire-Emery's 89.6.
Leny Yoro, a Real Madrid target for whom Manchester United are willing to pay 60 million euros, is fifth with 86.7. Savinho and Kobbie Mainoo are the first to drop below 85 - 84.1 and 83.8 respectively.
Pau Cubarsi -82.9-, Aleksandar Pavlovic -82.7- and Rico Lewis -82.1- are the players who close the top 10 of June of the Golden Boy 2024. An award that Lamine Yamal could win and thus be the next in line to inherit Jude Bellingham's glory.
