One of the names of the summer after a great European Championship in which he was crowned champion and best young player of the tournament has just started his holidays.
Lamine Yamal has just landed in Barcelona and one of the tasks the young star has had before leaving on holiday has been choosing a new number for the first team for next season.
The Spanish winger appears to have opted for the number 19 instead of eight-time Ballon d'Or winner Lionel Messi's number 10, which was vacant following Ansu Fati's loan move to Brighton last season.
Lamine Yamal said that he respects his teammate very much and that he will not choose the number 10 and will wear the number 19 in the 2024/25 season, the number that has given him so much luck to shine with Spain in the EURO.
This would leave the number 10 once again in the hands of Ansu Fati, who has returned to training with Barcelona and seems to be surprising new coach Hansi Flick, so a summer exit for the former Brighton man is not expected for the time being.
