Laporta on renewing Dembele: "There'll be time to talk about that"
Xavi seems to have found Ousmane Dembele's best form after the Frenchman was always getting injured after first joining. After signing a new contract last summer until 2024, Joan Laporta said 'RAC 1' that he is not considering a new contract right now.

If there is one person that wants Dembele to do well and stay at Barcelona, it is Xavi Hernandez. The Catalan boss was the first to ask that he stayed and for his new contract after he arrived in the Barca ranks.
The Frenchman renewed his contract once the transfer market opened, and in the season when he was free to negotiate with whoever he wanted. But he was certain he wanted to go to Barcelona.
His contract has a release clause of €100 million, but in June and July 2023, any club can sign him for half that price. Joan Laporta spoke to 'RAC 1' about the Frenchman: "He's happy, motivated, with a contract in place and there'll be time to talk about that".
What the Barca board have in mind is for Dembele to sign on for a few more years, and for his release clause to bigger, because in his current form, it will not be long before the European giants come knocking.
