Defender Aymeric Laporte is on Real Madrid's list of targets. 'Los Blancos' are considering a move for the player, who is contracted to Al-Nassr until 2026, after Yoro's flop.
The centre-back is delighted with the idea of being able to wear the Madrid shirt. However, he has run into a problem he did not expect. The Saudi Arabian side are putting obstacles in the way of his move to Spain.
According to 'AS', Al-Nassr do not intend to let him leave unless Real Madrid pay a transfer fee. The only condition the Spaniards have set to tie Laporte down is that he arrives as a free agent, i.e. without having to pay Al-Nassr a single euro.
The former Manchester City player, who is even willing to give up the two years left on his contract and, consequently, the 48 million euros that Al-Nassr owe him, is moving further and further away from the Santiago Bernabeu, at least for the time being.
Since he left for Al-Nassr, Laporte has not been able to find his place. The football played in Saudi Arabia does not satisfy him and he is eager to return to a European team. He has until 1st September to convince his current team to let him leave for free or he will have to stay in Saudi Arabia.
