Norwegian international Jorgen Strand Larsen, scorer of the goal that earned Celta a 1-1 draw against Villarreal, made no secret of his delight at scoring his first LaLiga goal, 808 minutes and 15 games after his debut against Cadiz in early September.
"I'm very happy for the goal, I've been chasing it for a long time. It's been a tough few months because I was playing well, but the goal wasn't arriving. I hope that everything changes from now on", declared the striker, a substitute in the match, who scored three minutes after replacing Oscar Rodriguez.
Larsen admitted he was eager to celebrate his first goal in La Liga, which he joined last summer after Celta paid around 12 million euros for him from Eredivisie side Groningen.
"I wanted to celebrate the goal, especially with our fans, so I went to celebrate with them when I saw that the assistant referee did not award offside," said the player, for whom his team deserved more in terms of play and chances. Larsen hopes to make this point good by winning next Friday against Mallorca, a direct rival in the fight to avoid relegation.
