Lautaro Martinez lead Inter to victory against Udinese (3-2) with a brace to open his goal account for the 2024/2025 season. The Argentine was able to get on the scoresheet twice in Sunday's match to put an end to his goaless streak of 8 matches with Inter.
The match was given life from the get-go, as Davide Frattesi capitalised from Matteo Darmian's pass within the first minute of the game. The goal was followed by complete dominance from the 'Nerazzuri', who had several chances to increase the lead throughout the first half an hour.
The lack of precision proved to be costly for Inter, who gave away the lead at the 35' when Kabasele headed the ball past Sommer. The ghosts of the Milan derby seemed to be creeping back in for Inzaghi's men, however, captain Lautaro Martinez came through for Inter right before the break to restore the advantage over Udinese. The 27-year-old made the most of Dimarco's pass into the box to get back on target after being absent on the scoresheet since the 10th of May for the 'Nerazzurri'.
The striker then doubled in the opening minutes of the second half to put inter 3-1 ahead. Nonetheless, a late goal from Lorenzo Lucca at the 83', reopened the game, as Inter had to suffer their way to the win until the final whistle.
