Inter Milan have been the big winners in Italian football this season. The ‘Nerazzurri’ have won the Serie 2023-24, a title they have achieved by being the most consistent of all the teams. Simeone Inzaghi's side have shown no sign of weakness all season, with a 19-point lead over second-placed Milan.
Lautaro Martinez, who leads the ‘Capocannoniere’ with 24 goals - 27 between all competitions - spoke to ‘La Gazzetta dello Sport’ on Monday accompanied by the ‘Scudetto’ and came out on top when asked about whether he is on the same level as Mbappe, Haaland, Kane and Lewandowski.
"I have nothing to be jealous of them, the numbers and the trophies say so. Some of them have won less than me. I have to keep working responsibly as my father taught me, but I can be at the same level as all these great players," said the Argentine striker, who has a contract until 2026 but is aiming to renew it soon.
"We are working, we hope to reach an agreement. I've been grateful to Inter since day one and I try to show it on the pitch. We have to continue on this path," said the world champion. Finally, Lautaro made it very clear that the Lombardy team will try to fight for all the titles next season. "We want to win as many trophies as possible next year," he concluded.
