Fred is expected to leave Manchester United in the summer transfer window. Several clubs are interested in the midfielder but the Red Devils have yet to receive an opening bid for him.
Lazio were keeping an eye on his situation and were ready to move for him but coach Maurizio Sarri told the board that he does not want him in his squad.
"I was prepared to open talks with Manchester United and bid for Fred, but Maurizio Sarri told me no. He doesn't want Fred. He did the same with Lo Celso. Sarri wants Zielinski and Ricci," Lazio president Claudio Lotito told 'Il Messaggero'.
As a result, the Serie A side will negotiate for the transfers of Piotr Zielinski, who plays for Napoli, and Samuele Ricci, who plays for Torino. Both footballers have experience in the Italian league.
Fred's future at Old Trafford is uncertain as he is not expected to get many chances under Erik ten Hag. The Brazilian midfielder is considering an exit. We will have to wait and see what the 30-year-old decides for his future.
