Several outlets are reporting AC Milan have reached an agreement with their star winger, Rafael Leao, to sign a new five-year contract. Fabrizio Romano claims a "verbal agreement" has been made, with the documents being prepped to make the contract official.
This comes as Milan prepare to face Inter in an epic UCL semifinal derby, with the first leg on Wednesday night. It is unclear whether the 23-year-old will be fit to play, after picking up a thigh injury on Saturday but he was seen arriving at the hotel with the rest of the team. Ultimately, the decision rests with the coach, Stefano Pioli.
The winger has been instrumental all season for the Italian side, picking up 13 goals and 10 assists in all competitions. He was also key last season, as he helped Milan win their first Serie A title in 11 years. Currently, the team sit 5th in the Italian League, but with four games to play and only five points behind second place Juventus, their season isn't over yet.
In a statement to Fabrizio Romano, the star's team claim that his "priority has not changed" and his goal is to stay with the club. All we're waiting for is Romano's "Here we go!".
