Angelino continues his European tour. After seemingly earning a regular place at RB Leipzig in the 20-21 and 21-22 seasons, he went on loan to Hoffenheim and then to Galatasaray, from where he is about to leave for Roma for the remainder of the current campaign. Transfer market specialist Fabrizio Romano has confirmed this.
The Manchester City youth product will return to the top leagues because a clause in his loan to the Turkish side stipulated that, if he played at least 20 games, he would have to stay there permanently for 6 million euros. As the club where he has spent the last few months did not want to pay them or keep him in the squad, the Bundesliga side have found another temporary destination for him.
In Italy, the conditions of his stay will be the same: half a year with an option of 6 million euros if Daniele de Rossi ends up very satisfied with his performance or if there is some circumstance of the agreement that has not come to light more specifically. After the sacking of Jose Mourinho, the people at the Olimpico need reasons to believe in an improvement towards the end of the season and this addition may help to do so.
Angelino has not played since 12th December, when he played against Copenhagen in the Champions League group stage. It was his 19th game for Galatasaray, which is why he did not play again due to the clause.
