Lenglet to renew with Barca, head to Atletico

Simeone is about to see Atletico Madrid close their squad for the 2024/25 season. The Madrid side only needed to bring in a centre-back after the arrivals of Julian Alvarez, Conor Gallagher, Robin Le Normand and Alexander Sorloth.
Barcelona's Clement Lenglet has finally been chosen, according to journalist Fabrizio Romano. The Frenchman will join the club after signing a new contract with the Catalan side until 2027.
The favourite was David Hancko, but Feyenoord have not budged in negotiations with the Madrid club. The transfer could not be completed despite the defender's agreement to move to the Spanish capital. The Dutch side were demanding around 35 million euros and Atletico were unwilling to offer more than 25 million euros.
Lenglet will return to La Liga after two years in the Premier League. He played on loan during the 2022/23 season at Tottenham and last season he was at Aston Villa under Unai Emery.
