ACR Messina goalkeeper Michal Lewandowski scored one of the goals of the matchday, a beautiful and spectacular goal which has gone viral. It is because the goalkeeper of the Italian side scored... pretty much from his own goal!
Lewandowski was only a few metres out of his box when he took the free-kick. He struck it up into the air with so much force that it ended up bouncing in the opposition's area, just where his opposite number was, the Nuova Monterosi goalkeeper Marco Alia.
It was a Marco who, despite scurrying back to his goal as quick as he could, he was far enough forward that the ball bounced over his head and ended up in the back of his net.
Europhia swept over the Messina and its fans, as this was the side's second goal. The Serie C clash ended up being won by Messina 3-2.
